Echoes of Resilience: One Year of Marka-e-Haq

Pakistan responded with restraint and precision while the adversary descended into reckless adventurism. A victory not just of arms, but of strategic maturity and national character.

One year on, a nation honours its defenders while the adversary grapples with defeat.

May 10 marks a day of honour, a month of honour for Pakistan but a month of embarrassment for our neighbour. Pakistan avoided knee-jerk reactions and delivered a calculated precise response, while Modi acted like a madman and threw a wrench into his own nefarious plans.

In the ceremony at GHQ Pakistan’s military leadership gathered to commemorate the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq the Battle of Truth a decisive triumph that etched a new chapter in the nation’s defence history. On the first anniversary of Marka-e-Haq, Field Marshal Asim Munir and the service chiefs paid tribute to the martyrs and highlighted the armed force’s professional excellence. What began as unprovoked Indian aggression in May 2025 was met with restraint and resolve. Pakistan’s forces executed a calibrated multi-domain operation that neutralized threats, dominated key spaces and forced a hasty ceasefire through American mediation.

An aspect of the broader discourse surrounding the conflict remains India’s recurring trend of blaming Pakistan and the ISI for every internal security incident without providing credible evidence. The Pahalgam incident was widely viewed as a false flag operation designed for political gain ahead of Indian elections.

Situated deep within occupied Kashmir and protected by heavy security layers, including radars and barbed wire fencing, any infiltration there would point to a massive failure of Indian intelligence and military preparedness rather than external involvement. As a responsible nuclear power backed by a highly organized and professional army unlike volatile conflict zones such as Gaza, Pakistan demonstrated strategic composure and strength.

While India attempted to isolate Pakistan internationally, the global community instead turned to Islamabad. Pakistan played a proactive role as a net security provider and peace broker, particularly in de-escalating tensions between the US and Iran.

Field Marshal Munir rightly described it as a clash of ideologies one rooted in aggression and hegemony, the other in sovereignty and peace. He warned that dreams of isolating Pakistan diplomatically or altering regional balance through force far exceed India’s actual capabilities. Pakistan’s response proved that any misadventure would invite consequences beyond the battlefield.

The anniversary also showcased Pakistan’s forward vision, the New Defence Forces Headquarters will tackle emerging domains like drones, cyber, and artificial intelligence. Behind the forces stood an entire nation as a “lead-plated wall,” converting adversity into unbreakable unity.

One year on, Marka-e-Haq stands as testimony to Pakistan’s strategic maturity. It chose precision over panic, defence over dominance and diplomacy over escalation. On this day of honour, the message remains firm that Pakistan is ready, vigilant and committed to peace with dignity.
