NLC and DP World Improve Connectivity Between Bangladesh and Pakistan

Since opening the first direct shipping route between Pakistan and Bangladesh in October, DP World and National Logistics Corporation (NLC), Pakistan’s leading multimodal logistics company, have transported over 1,000 containers between the two nations.

The service’s importance in promoting regional trade is demonstrated by the most recent shipment on board the MV Yuan Xiang Fa Zhan, which sailed from Karachi and is scheduled to arrive at Bangladesh’s Chittagong Port in January. It contains a range of goods, including textile fabrics, agricultural products, and industrial raw materials.

For importers and exporters, the new direct sea link between Bangladesh and Pakistan offers substantial advantages, such as a more dependable competitive logistics solution, enhanced connectivity by doing away with transshipment, and a more than 50% reduction in transit times. The service has already made a number of successful journeys and has been well received by the business communities in both nations. Driven by the joint venture between DP World and NLC, this effort ushers in a new age in commerce for Bangladesh and Pakistan.
