Pakistan’s worsening water scarcity is accelerating soil salinity across the Indus Basin, threatening agriculture, food security, and groundwater sustainability. This article examines the nexus between water depletion, saline intrusion, and the urgent need for scientific water governance and salinity research in Pakistan.
