Hey there, potential contributor!

Thanks for considering sharing your thoughts with us at South Asia Times (SAT). We’re all about original ideas and fresh perspectives on anything related to South Asia and global affairs. Here’s the lowdown on how to submit your content:

  1. Get to Know Us!

Take a peek at our existing stuff. We’ve got a vibe going on, and we want your piece to groove with it. Know what’s been said before and where you can add something new.

  1. Be Exclusive.

We’re all about that exclusivity. Your piece should be made just for us, not hanging out with other publications at the same time.

  1. What We Like…
    • Features: Think deep dives. Your article should be between 1,500 and 2,000 words. Don’t forget to sprinkle those hyperlinks for sources, but no need for footnotes or source notes.
    • Op-eds: Short and sweet, between 800 and 1,200 words.
  1. How to Send It?
    • Shoot your masterpiece over as a .doc or .docx file to submissions@southasiatimes.org.
    • Make sure to slap “Submission” in the subject line and let us know what type of submission it is in the email body.
    • Oh, and give us a little bio about yourself in two or three sentences at the end of your piece. And don’t forget to attach a headshot!
    • Also, feel free to share your social media handles with us. This will allow us to tag or mention you when your piece is published.
  1. Wait for the Magic!

We’ll need about five business days to give your submission the once-over. Then, our editors will hit you up with any feedback or let you know if we’re publishing your piece.

  1. Accuracy Matters!!
    1. We don’t have fancy fact-checkers, but we do make sure everything’s on point. If we spot any inaccuracies, we’ll give you a heads-up.

Ready to dive in? Send us your best stuff, and let’s make some waves together! If you’ve got questions, just give us a shout. We’re here to help.
