Bangladesh Navy Ship Heads to Pakistan for AMAN Exercise

The Bangladesh Navy Ship (BNS) Samudra Joy departed from the Chittagong naval jetty on Sunday to join Exercise Aman-2025. The organizers have scheduled the exercise to take place in Karachi, Pakistan, from February 7 to February 11, 2025.

As the ship left the jetty, the Navy gave it a formal farewell according to traditional customs, with a ceremonial band performance.

Senior local naval officers and families of the officers and sailors departing on the mission were present at the departure ceremony.

Earlier, Rear Admiral Mir Ershad Ali, commander of the Chittagong Naval Area, attended the event as the chief guest and delivered an inspirational speech to the officers and sailors on board.

Exercise Aman-2025 will see the participation of high-level representatives, observers, military strategists, and naval ships from various countries around the world.

Bangladesh Navy Strengthens Regional Ties

Captain Md Shahriar Alam, the commanding officer of BNS Samudra Joy, leads the team. A total of 274 naval personnel will participate in the international fleet review. This includes 33 officers and 58 trainee officers.

The Bangladesh Navy has established itself as a symbol of regional solidarity by regularly conducting international exercises, training, and joint operations with friendly nations.

The Bangladesh Navy has participated in various multinational exercises. Through these exercises, the Navy has achieved milestones in ensuring maritime security. It has also provided humanitarian assistance and responded to disasters on a global scale.

As part of this tradition, BNS Samudra Joy will also undertake goodwill visits to Colombo, Sri Lanka, and Malé, Maldives, during its journey to Pakistan to strengthen friendly relations with these countries.

The Bangladesh Navy previously participated in Exercise Aman in 2007, 2009, and 2013. These participations showcased professionalism and competence. They enhanced the reputation of the Navy and Bangladesh on the global stage.

This mission is expected to strengthen diplomatic relations on maritime security and regional cooperation among participating nations. The mission will also improve the professional skills of naval personnel.
