PM Imran Khan has hinted at the establishment of Pakistan\’s first and largest ski resorts in Deosai Plains, Skardu. Although these images capture the beauty of the region, the government intends to capitalize on it. In the following years, the government is planning to develop back-to-back tourism ventures.
Prime Minister Imran Khan had planned to visit Gilgit Baltistan to announce a development package for the area. However, the trip was postponed due to bad weather. Imran Khan mentioned that the Deosai plains will become the country\’s first winter ski traverse.
The Tourism Department of Gilgit Baltistan recently organized a ski traverse event at Deosai National Park to promote tourism in the region. In addition, the PM said \”Gilgit-Baltistan has a lot of tourism potential that needs to be realized. Tourism promotion and environmental conservation also need special consideration. In Pakistan, tourism has the potential to be the largest source of jobs.\”
The Deosai plateau, according to the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), is home to the region\’s only stable population and is critical to its existence. PM Khan has a strong interest in reviving Pakistan\’s tourism sector, and he has consistently highlighted the industry\’s untapped potential.

On the border of the Karakoram and the western Himalayas is the Deosai district. It is snow-covered for eight months. The area is home to a multitude of colourful flowers in a number of hues and shades, but there isn\’t a single tree in this 3000 square km plateau.
The premier had previously told journalists in Jhelum during the inauguration of a tourism project that tourism may be Pakistan\’s largest source of jobs [if enough work is done to grow the sector].
